About the Heath & Regents Park FC
The Heath & Regents Park Football Club was started in 2005/6 by John McCulloch and Nicky Keen. They each had a passion for the game of football and Nicky needed a club for her son. They founded a competitive football club which met with a roaring success and quickly gained notoriety in the greater Regents Park and Hampstead Heath area. Many players have gone on to play at professional football academy level and also its US children will see some go to collegiate soccer in the US. So it began; with 1 team and a vision.
The Club’s founding goals and principles were simple; provide motivated youth players the opportunity to develop their skills to the fullest extent possible, provide top flight professional instruction, experienced coaching in a positive yet challenging environment and do what is in the best interest of our players. This formula has proven successful year over year and continues to guide our Club.
We also run the "Toddlers FC" program for three to five year olds which aims to teach the basics of football to our toddlers in a fun and toddler friendly environment.
Our Football Pro Academy program encourages all playing abilities and as local grassroot clubs our goals are to give all our players the confidence and skills to develop as individuals and as part of a team.
We have developed the Football Pro Academy curriculum program with the help of Mark Phillips, the Under 13 West Ham Academy coach. Mark, understood our need to develop a program for grassroot clubs which would give our players and coaches the tools required. This program not only covers and improves all the core football skills but also develops general self confidence and self discipline in our players.
Our football clubs in the parks are based in and around Regents Park and Hampstead Heath and our coaching team is made up of many full time coaches and PE Teachers. Every child that comes to our club really does matter and we work with local schools and the Royal Parks to get more of our local children into the parks.
We take our childrens safety very seriously and so all our coaching sessions have a secure and safe register process. Success on the pitch may be the measuring stick, but player development has been the passion. It is not unusual for our teams to play up an age group. Regents Park FC Academy squads have played in the Gothia Youth World Cup in 2010 and 2011 and we intend to win this one year. This effort provided our youth players the opportunity to watch and learn from the best teams and players in the world.
The Heath & Regents Park Football Club is a restless band of motivated players, supportive parents, determined and dedicated professional coaches and volunteers, singularly focused on creating a challenging, exciting, productive and rewarding future for youth football in the greater Regents and Hampstead park area.
